Thank you for visiting my online portfolio, and please enjoy the work within.
During my entire life I have loved looking at artworks, movies and, of course, photos that contain beautifully crafted imagery of the human race looking its best.
I would look at these representations of perfection and wish I could achieve the same level of work. When younger, I had a strong passion for comics and drawing. As I became older, I received my first computer (a 286 no less), and digital art was my new outlet.
Early adolescence evolved into late adolescence, and Playboy became my guide of reference for the human form. My passion for art continued to grow into 3D animation.
As digital cameras first appeared, and then became affordable, I realised that I may have missed my call in life. Picking up my first Digital SLR, I started to teach myself photography. Playboy of course, still being my main tutor. It was no surprise when the subject matter I was most captivated by was the human race. I of course wanted to make sure that I wasn’t just taking photos of a person though.
I formed the ideal that would guide my work:
“Make a model look the best I possibly can.”
I continue to strive to make sure my work meets that singular requirement. I hope that as I go forward in life, my work will also move forward as I forever try to reach that beautiful perfection.
I always enjoy working and meeting others who are trying to reach a similar goal. If you share a similar passion, then please feel free to email me at: mattlanhamphotography@hotmail.com
